How to Find an Old Countdown in Soon
To find an old countdown in Soon, tap Memories, or open Search from Moments and enter part of its title, category, or saved location. Search includes both upcoming and completed events. A finished countdown can still appear in a search result with zero days, so check its date before assuming it is happening today.
Start with the Memories tab
Open Soon and tap Memories in the bottom navigation. Completed one-time countdowns appear here, with the most recent event dates first. Scroll toward older dates until you recognize the title, emoji, or cover, then tap the card. The detail screen shows the saved date, a location if you added one, and any saved note. Look for the status ‘Completed · now a memory’ to confirm that you have opened a finished event. You do not need to create another countdown to view it.
Open Search from Moments
If scrolling takes too long, tap Moments at the bottom, then tap the magnifying glass near the top of that screen. Memories does not have its own search button. In the Search panel, type a word or part of a word you remember. Results update as you type; there is no separate submit step. Tap a result to open its details. You can also leave the field empty to browse the combined list: upcoming events appear first, followed by completed events.
Try one useful clue at a time
Soon searches the event title, saved location, and category name. Capitalization does not matter, and a partial word can match. If ‘summer trip’ finds nothing, try ‘summer’ and then ‘trip’ separately: the app looks for the phrase you enter within each searchable field. A word from the title plus a word from the location may not match as a combined query. The table shows which clues work. If you changed the app’s language, use the category name displayed in that language; your own title and location remain the words you entered.
Check the date when a result says zero days
A past event can show ‘0 days’ in Search even though its date has already passed. This is a display limitation: the result does not show a negative day count or replace it with a completed label. Read the date beneath the title, then open the result to check the full date and completion status. A zero in the results list does not mean the app has moved your event to today, and it does not mean the saved event is empty.
Check whether the countdown has actually finished
A countdown with a specific time becomes completed when that time arrives. A date-only countdown stays upcoming for the whole selected day and becomes completed at the start of the following day, using the device’s local time. If you are looking for today’s event in Memories, check Moments too. If you kept the event detail screen open as the deadline passed, use its back arrow and return to Memories to check the list. You do not need to delete or recreate the event to make that transition happen.
Look in Moments for a repeating event
Weekly, monthly, and yearly countdowns advance to their next occurrence after they finish. Soon updates the event’s date rather than keeping a separate memory for every occurrence. If last year’s recurring event seems to be missing, search for its title and check the upcoming result in Moments. Finding the next date does not mean there is also a saved card for the previous one. If you need a lasting record of one particular occasion, keep its original date in a separate note or calendar entry; Soon does not provide an occurrence history to retrieve.
If you still cannot find the event
Clear the search field first and check whether the event appears in the full list. Then try a shorter title fragment, the saved place, or the category on its own. If a query based on a note or a year failed, browse Memories by the dates printed on the cards instead. Also check the device where you originally saved the countdown. Soon keeps event records locally and has no account-based event library to sign into on another phone. Search can find a record that is still saved; it cannot reconstruct an event that has been deleted.
Keep the record while you troubleshoot
Avoid Reset app while looking for an old countdown: it clears the saved events and stored photos. Soon has no in-app event backup or import tool, and restoring purchases checks Premium access rather than restoring countdown records. Before making changes, write down any dates and notes you can still open, or take screenshots for reference. A screenshot is a readable copy, not a file Soon can import. For a missing event, you can contact support@hugosoftware.net with its approximate date and what happened before it disappeared, but do not assume support can recover a local record.

Frequently asked questions
Do I need Premium to open Memories or use Search?
No. Viewing Memories and searching saved events do not require Premium. You can keep completed memories without deleting them to make room under the free active-countdown limit.
Can I search for a year such as 2025?
Only if that text appears in a searchable field, such as the title. Search does not match the event’s date field. For a year-only clue, browse the dated cards in Memories.
Can I filter Memories by category?
Memories has no category filter. Open Search from Moments and type the category name instead. Those results can include both upcoming events and completed memories in that category.
How do I tell apart old countdowns with the same title?
Check the dates on their Memories cards, then open each likely match to read the full date, saved location, and note. Search results show a shorter date, so the detail screen is useful when titles repeat across years.
Why can’t I use Edit on an old countdown?
The Edit panel can open behind the event detail screen and fail to respond to taps. If this happens, leave the saved event intact and contact support@hugosoftware.net. Deleting it is not a repair for an unresponsive editing panel.
Does Restart with a new date restore a missing countdown?
No. That button only displays a message; it does not change the date or recover a record. It is not a way to retrieve an earlier occurrence of a repeating event.
