Countdown Timer with Multiple Events: What Soon Supports

Soon supports multiple event countdowns in the app, but all its Android home screen widgets share one event selection: the active pinned event, or the soonest upcoming event when nothing is pinned. You cannot assign a different event to each widget. If you want a countdown timer with multiple events, decide whether you need an overview inside the app or different dates visible together on your home screen.

Keep several dates in the app

In Soon, each event has its own title and target date. The Moments tab brings upcoming dates together, and All Events lets you open the one you want to check. The free plan allows up to two active countdowns; Premium allows more without that limit. That event allowance describes what you can keep in the app. For example, you can save a trip and a concert as separate countdowns and check both in Moments, even though the home screen widget shows only one of them at a time.

What two home screen widgets actually show

Suppose your concert is next week and your trip is next month, with neither event pinned. Two Soon widgets on your Android home screen will both select the concert. Put one on another home screen page and it still follows that same selection. There is no separate event chooser when you place each Soon widget. Extra copies can put the selected countdown where you want to see it, but they do not give the concert and trip their own permanent spots. You also cannot reserve one copy for your next event and another for a pinned date.

Use the pin to choose the shared priority

To make a later date the priority, open that event in Soon and tap the pin icon near the top of its detail screen. Only one event can be pinned at a time: pinning another clears the previous pin, and tapping the pinned event’s pin again removes it. A pinned upcoming event takes priority over an earlier unpinned date. The confirmation says “Pinned to home,” but this action chooses the app’s pinned event; it does not place a new Android widget. Use it when you want one important date to stay in view across your Soon widgets.

If changing the pin leaves the old event visible

After pinning or unpinning an event, returning with the detail screen’s back arrow can leave the previous pinned card visible in Moments. The widget selection can also remain unchanged until the app refreshes its main view. Leave the detail screen, tap Widgets, then return to Moments before checking your Android home screen. This gives the app an opportunity to send the updated selection to its widgets. Check the event title as well as the number, especially when two dates happen to have similar countdowns.

Read the widget gallery as a preview

The Widgets tab can show several upcoming events arranged as different tiles. That gallery is a preview inside Soon; its arrangement does not become a home screen layout with independently assigned events. Tapping a gallery tile opens that event’s details in the app. The style editor’s preview can also use the soonest upcoming event even when a different event is pinned, so its sample title is not a reliable check of the shared widget selection. Check the actual widget on your Android home screen to see which event it is showing.

Understand when the selected event moves on

The widget can move to another upcoming event after a one-time countdown ends. For an event with a time, that point is its target time; for a date without a time, the event remains active through that local calendar day. Repeating events can advance to their next occurrence. A repeating pinned event can therefore keep priority rather than give way to a closer unpinned date. If you want the widget to follow whichever event comes next, remove the pin. This is selection by date and priority, rather than a slideshow rotating through every saved countdown.

Widget appearance settings are shared too

Soon’s Premium widget controls cover appearance, including color choice, light or dark tone, emoji visibility, and a larger countdown number. Those preferences apply across the app’s Android widgets. They are not saved separately for each copy you place. Choosing an event’s own theme can make the widget’s colors follow the selected event, while choosing a fixed color keeps that appearance choice. Neither option creates another event slot. For a screen with separate visual identities for different dates, you would need independent event selection as well as the appearance controls.

Choose a setup that fits how you check dates

Soon fits a setup where you check several dates in Moments and keep one priority countdown on the home screen. If you need two different dates visible there at once, look for an app that explicitly offers event selection for each widget. Android Developers describes widget configuration as a feature apps can provide, so a separate setup screen is something to check for. Before committing to another app, try placing two widgets, select different events, and confirm that changing one leaves the other alone. A gallery showing several dates or a promise of unlimited countdowns does not establish that behavior.

Frequently asked questions

Does Soon Premium unlock a different event for each widget?

No. Premium expands the active countdown allowance and provides widget appearance controls, but it does not add independent event selection for each Android home screen widget. Do not subscribe solely to get that feature.

Can a single Soon widget show a list of several events?

No. The Android home screen widget displays one selected event, rather than a list of countdowns. To see your upcoming events together, open Soon and use All Events in the Moments tab.

Does tapping the home screen widget open that event’s details?

Tapping the Android home screen widget opens Soon. It does not provide a shortcut directly to the displayed event’s detail screen. Select the event inside the app to see its details or change its pin.

Can categories separate which events my widgets show?

No. Assigning different categories to your events does not create separate widget groups or filters. The widgets still use the shared pinned-or-next selection, so categories cannot keep one widget on travel and another on birthdays.

Count down to the moments that matter. Soon puts your next big day on your home screen: a countdown widget that ticks toward weddings, trips, exams and reunions, with photo covers and gentle reminders. Set it once, and the wait becomes part of the joy.
